Three Stooges: Meet the Baron/Gold Raiders, The (1951) (DVD) (DBFE)

Westward-ho-ho-ho! There's a wagonload of sundries and snake oil rolling toward Red Mesa and since Larry, Shemp and Moe hold the horses' reins there's a load of slaphappy shenanigans, too, in the way-out Western Gold Raiders. Barrel-chested cowboy icon George O'Brien adds heroics in a galloping battle with robbers. Meanwhile, with exploding cigars, a demonstration of the trio's "miracle eyeglasses" and a medical exam with the boys posing as MDs, the Stooges show how the jest was won. Next, in one of their earliest screen appearances, the Stooges Meet the Baron. Radio comic Jack Pearl (with support from Jimmy Durante) plays the bogus baron on a speaking tour, and Larry, Curly (billed as Jerry) and Moe play janitors at the all-girl Cuddle College. What? No hot water in the shower? The boys will be right up!

Three Stooges Go Around the World in a Daze

Jules Verne's novel Around the World in 80 Days becomes an unusual source of inspiration for con man Vickers Cavendish. After reading it, he comes up with the brilliant idea to bet the great-grandson of the book's hero, Phineas Fogg III, that he can't make the same trip--and do it without spending a cent. Intent on preserving his family's name and reputation, Fogg accepts the challenge and enlists the Stooges to come along and help him win the bet. But when Vickers robs the bank where their money is saved, Scotland Yard suspects Fogg and a worldwide warrant is issued for his arrest. With the cops hot on their trail and Vickers laughing all the way to--and from--the bank, Fogg and the Stooges attempt to complete their journey in 80 days, win the bet and prove their innocence. Only one thing's for sure for these chaps: they're going to need a real vacation when this trip ends!

Three Stooges-Nutty But Nice

A Ducking They Did Go (1939): Hiding out after a daring watermelon heist, the Three Stooges take jobs selling Duck Club memberships. But things aren't all they're quacked up to be, and Larry, Moe and Curly soon find they're decoys in a scam involving the club. Hoi Polloi (1935): You can take out the garbage, but you can't take the garbage man out of the Stooge, as a respectful professor finds out when he wagers his colleague $10,000 that he can transform even the Stooge-est men into gentlemen. Half-Wits Holiday (1947): In this remake of Hoi Polloi, the Three Stooges are plumbers who plunge to great depths to be introduced to high society. This was the last starring role for Curly, and features the first appearance by Emil Sikra. Higher Than A Kite (1943): Mechanical failures Larry, Moe and Curly take refuge in a bomb shelter while attempting to escape after they rearrange the engine of their Colonel's shiny new car. When they drop in on a meeting of German officers, they somehow manage to overthrow the enemy. False Alarms (1936): The Three Stooges make a date with disaster when they try to keep up with their social affairs while working for the fire department. Larry and Moe are determined to resist temptation, but when Curly needs dates for his honey's friends, everyone gets hosed. Nutty But Nice (1940): In order to cheer up a girl whose father has been kidnapped, two doctors prescribe laughter to be administered by the Stooges. It doesn't work, but when they find out her father always answers her yodels, they discover the real cure for the problem.
